William Chadwick, III Obituary

William E. Chadwick, III, known to family and friends as "Ed", passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025 at home in Indian Land, SC.

Ed was born on August 28, 1943 in Charlotte, NC, son to the late Willam E. Chadwick, Jr. and Sara Hall Chadwick. Being a native Charlottean, Ed attended Harding High School and Central Piedmont Community College. He married the love of his life Emily Crutchfield Chadwick on July 11, 1964 and was happily married for 61 years.

Ed worked for Washburn Graphics, Cadmus and retired from R. R. Donnelly as Manager of Composition (Hot Metal) Customer Service Representative, Financial Print Division Manager.

Ed was an avid reader, history buff and was a great photographer. He also enjoyed baking pastries in his later years. Ed enjoyed playing tennis, golf and softball. He coached his daughter and son's softball teams and managed his son's swimming team. Ed was a kind, generous, loving, caring husband, dad, pop pop and friend.

Survivors include his loving wife and best friend Emily Crutchfield Chadwick; children Wendolyn C. Chadwick and Mark E. Chadwick and wife Katrina; grandchildren Madison Chadwick, Alex Chadwick, Mollie Fuller, Will Chadwick and Nicholas Fuller; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice nurses LaVetta Brown and CNA Christina.
