William Patrick Cheeseman

Rosetta Cheeseman, 86, passed on Saturday, August 19, 2023, and William Cheeseman, 87, passed 23 hours later on Sunday, August 20, 2023, while at home surrounded by their loving family, as they both went to be with the Lord. Rosetta and Bill were born in Brooklyn, and met in childhood. Their love story started January 26, 1957, when they were married. They started a family in 1958-1968 and had three daughters and a son. They had a great love for travel. Some of their favorite places were the Bahamas, Aruba, and Ireland. Ireland was a great trip for Rosetta with her seven sisters. They all loved to get together for many years at the Jersey Shore as well. She also enjoyed dancing and playing bingo. William worked with his brother-in-law, Nicky Palumbo, at Palumbo Trucking for over 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, swimming, and sun tanning. He also loved watching Westerns. After retirement, William and Rosetta moved to their beautiful home in Manchester, where Bill enjoyed chasing Rosetta around the kitchen. They were together till the end. Theirs is a true love story. Our loving God brought them home where they will be together for eternity. Rosetta was predeceased by her siblings: Mary, Agnes, Susan, Cecelia, Kitty, Eileen, John, & Nancy. William was predeceased by his siblings: James Cheeseman & Katherine Bryson. They are survived by their son and daughter in law, William & Theresa Cheeseman; daughters and sons in law: Debra & Gary Valdata, Laura & Danny Connelly, and Lisa & Michael Santillo; grandchildren: Alexandra, Justin, Shannon, Jason, Lara, Cally, Megan, Mikey, & James; and great grandchildren: Mila, Cillian, & Amelia. Rosetta is also survived by her sister, Teresa Alvarez. William is also survived by his brothers: Dennis & Robert Cheeseman. Visitation is Thursday, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm, at Oliverie Funeral Home, 125 S. Cooks Bridge Road, Jackson. Funeral Liturgy is Friday, 10am, at St. John's Church, Lakehurst, with interment to follow to Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veteran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rosetta & William can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
