William Thomas "Billy" Christian, Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2025, in Hendersonville, Tennessee. Born on August 28, 1936, in Jeffersonville, Georgia, he was the son of the late William Thomas Christian, Sr. and Evelyn Lanier Christian.
Billy's life was characterized by a passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, riding his Harley, traveling, and boating. As an avid fan of Country Westerns and cowboys, he found joy in the stories and music that shaped a significant part of his life. Additionally, Billy was a talented songwriter and guitarist, expressing his feelings and experiences through his art, which resonated with many.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son William Thomas Christian III and brother Louis "Bud" Christian.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Shirley Morris Christian; his daughter, Cynthia (John) Christian Rubino; and his sons, Tim Christian and Greg (Tanya) Christian. He also leaves behind adoring grandchildren Dylan Christian, Halston Christian, Stevie (Ben) Roberts, and Zoey Christian. Billy shared a special bond with his siblings, including his sister Dianne Christian, brother Reggie (Patty) Christian, and sister Vonceil (Howard) NeSmith.
Billy's warmth, kindness, and resilience will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service conducted by Jerry Ladd at 11:00 AM at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Gallatin, Tennessee. The family invites all to join in celebrating his life and the impact he had on those around him.
