William "Doug" Clinton

William Doug Clinton, age 66, of Cherryville, passed away October 27, 2025, at his home. Doug was born January 24, 1959, in Cleveland County, to the late William David and Ruby Hester Clinton.

Doug was a longtime member of the Pythian Lodge and a truckdriver for Sundrop. He enjoyed playing softball, shooting pool, and participating in turkey shoots. He was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

Doug is survived by his sons, Michael David Clinton (Jessica), of Denver, and Wesley Daniel Clinton, of Cherryville; brothers, Terry Clinton (Keri), and Kevin Clinton (Haley), both of Cherryville; sisters, Kay Burnette, of Cherryville; grandson, Hunter Bollinger; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, October 31, 2025, at Carpenter-Porter Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 6:45 PM, prior to the service at the funeral home. A burial will take place at Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery, at a later date.
