Mr. William Lewis Collett

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. William Lewis Collett, age 68, of Athens, Georgia of the South Jackson community, went home on Thursday, January 30, 2025. Mr. Collett was born in Forsyth County, Georgia, a son to the late Lewis Collett and the late Lillie Pauline Brown Collett Dishroon. Mr. Collett was a commercial truck driver for many years, working for several companies, including Heartland Express. In addition to his parents, Mr. Collett was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Collett.
Survivors include his children, Gloria Sue Bates and her husband David of Commerce, Michael Collett and his wife April of Winterville, Michelle Lynn Collett of Athens; his grandchildren, Charles, Hunter, Benjamin, Brooke and Kyle also survive.
The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Pastor Brenson Jennings officiating. The burial will follow in the Solid Rock Baptist Church Cemetery in Maysville, Georgia with family serving as pallbearers.
The visitation will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home.
