Bill (William) C. Comp found peace on February 15, 2024 at the age of 77. Loving husband to Wendy of 44 cherished years. Proud dad to Chris (Adrienne), Jeff (Tawn), Carrie (Nick) Roeglin, and Matt (Kim). Devoted Poppy to Tyler, Sydney, Trevon, Payton, Lila, Gavin, Mya, Brooklyn, Keegan, Tyler, Myles, and Daniel. Preceded in death by parents Irv and Bernie Comp and brother Jim. Further survived by brothers, Mike, Gary, Tom, all his Esox Brothers and many other family and friends.
Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Bill graduated from Bay View High School in 1964. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1966 through 1969. Bill always credited his culinary skills to what he learned while in the Air Force. He spent 38 years in the financial industry.
Bill always put his family first. Wendy was Bill's best friend and was by his side through thick and thin. He enjoyed every minute he spent with his family. He enjoyed coaching each of his children in youth sports. Whether he was on the bench or in the stands, he was always their biggest fan.
Poppy will always be remembered by his grandkids for his unwavering support. The fun times up north, whittling walking sticks, his pockets being filled with Swedish Fish, countless hours on the boat fishing, his famous pickles and love for flannels and the Green Bay Packers are some of their fondest memories. His grandkids were his pride and joy and the love he had for them was unconditional.
Fishing, watching sports, woodworking and tending to his vegetable garden were some of his favorite pastimes. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to spend time in Boulder Junction. When he was no longer able to get out and enjoy the outdoors as much as he liked, he got his fix from his TV shows.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends. To honor Bill, please come dressed in your favorite Green Bay Packer attire or coziest flannel.
Visitation will be held at the Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin on Monday, February 26, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Service at 5:15 PM.
