William Edwin "Bill" Corry

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of a tenacious and resilient soul, William Corry, fondly known as "Bill," "Uncle Billy", "Geega", "Grandpoppy" and "Poppy" on July 13, 2023. Born on the January 13, 1949, in Philadelphia, PA, Bill's life was a testament to an adventurous life, a spirited determination, and a charismatic presence that never failed to light up a room.
Bill was a man of many talents, embracing life with zest and courage. He was a hard worker, who founded Corry Enterprises, a business where he worked magic with his hands and mind. Yet, his adventurous spirit never retired. He was an avid traveler and a gifted writer, his tales of exploration igniting the imagination of everyone who heard them. As Maya Angelou once said, "You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have," and this was indeed true for Bill. His creativity and zest for life were infectious, making him the life of every gathering.
Bill's greatest joy, however, was his family. He was the proud father of Stacy (Doug), Kimberly (Michael), Megan, and Shannon (Tom), and a loving husband to Sunnie. The title he wore with the most pride was "Geega", "Grand Poppy" and "Poppy," a testament to his devotion as a grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Shawn, Andrew, Courtney, Eric, Melanie, Nick, Brianna, Raleigh Sinclair, Katie, Chloe, great grandchildren Toby and Logan. He was also survived by his sisters, Helen, Edwina, Claire (Louie), Eileen, and Kathy (Dave). Preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen Corry, Bill's legacy lives on through his family and the countless lives he touched.
A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, Memorial service from 3:00 to 4:00pm at Lambie Funeral Home, 8000 Rowland Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 19136, with a reception at 4:30 pm. We invite you to join us in honoring this remarkable man's life and legacy.
