William Edward Cowley (Ed) passed away on May 12, 2024, and is now in heaven with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Ed was born in Maud, Texas but grew up in Hugo, Oklahoma. He joined the Navy, was stationed at Hickam Air Force base in Hawaii serving as a pilot during the Korean War flying all over the South Pacific. He returned to Hugo and married the love of his life, Norma Jean Blair. They moved to Houston in 1965.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Norma Cowley, parents, Pearl and Farris Vivian Cowley and brother Fairis Cowley.
He is survived by daughters, Julie Beth Aldrich and Maria Byrne; son-in-law, Dr. Gregory Byrne; granddaughters, Stephanie (Stephe), Alexandra (Aya) and Cassandra (Cinderella Lou) Byrne and great granddaughter, Vivien Byrne.
Ed was kind and generous, a loving husband, father and grandfather. He adored his granddaughters spending lots of time with them and taking them on trips across the US. He was an avid bird and deer hunter. He also loved deep sea fishing.

A special thanks goes to his wonderful caregiver, Candace Carroll who took such loving care of him during the last 9 months.
