William Thomas Dark, 72, of Zebulon, NC, passed away October 28, 2025. He was born June 2, 1953, in Wake County, to the late Thomas Carrick Dark and Edith Underhill Dark.

William was a man of quiet strength and steady devotion. Known for his sharp wit and playful sense of humor, he loved to tease his friends and family, always bringing a smile to those around him. Though reserved by nature and not one to seek attention, William's generosity and willingness to help others spoke volumes about his character. He never liked asking for help himself, but he would do anything for someone in need.

A hardworking and disciplined man, William lived by a strong sense of structure and routine. He found joy in simple pleasures-spending time fishing in the ocean, collecting firearms, admiring trucks, and, of course, getting behind the wheel of a new car. A lifelong Carolina fan, he was loyal to his team through every season.

Above all, William cherished his family. He adored his wife, son, and extended family deeply, and they loved him just as fiercely in return.

William is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Joan Coombs Dark; son, Stephen T. Dark; sisters, Jane Davis (Philip) and Betsy Dark; and his beloved dog, Fennigan. He is preceded in death by his son, Christopher Dark, and his brother, Clyde Louis Dark.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, 809 W. Gannon Ave, Zebulon, NC 27597.
