William (Bill) Earl Davis, Aka Good Deal Bill, 10-27-1934 to 04-01-2025
Bill was a long-time resident of Wichita Falls, Texas, where he met his wife of almost 60 years. Bill was born October 27, 1934, and the 2nd son of Mr. & Mrs. Wallace Edmond Davis also of Wichita Falls, Texas. He was a 1952, graduate from Old High Wichita High School. His love for the outdoors began as a young boy while in the cub scouts and continued through to the eagle scouts. Bill knew everything about fishing, hunting, camping, and hiking. After graduation, Bill and 2 of his best friends joined the US Army where he served as a Mountaineer having the privilege of showing his ropes and mountain climbing skills to then President Dwight D Eisenhower, one of his greatest honors.
After his military service, he attended MSU and later moved his family to Abilene, Texas, where he and his wife owned and operated Sew-Knit & Stretch selling sewing machines and fabrics. From peddling sewing machines to the grocery business, to peddling tools he formed many lifelong friendships. He was a salesman that loved people; that loved life. And, he always, always had the best fishing and hunting spots.and stories.
Bill was a long-time member of Southside Baptist Church, Wichita Falls, Texas, and was also preceded in death by his wife of almost 60 years, Ruby V. Davis. His son, James Kenneth Lovett, and younger sister Elizabeth Perkins of Burkburnett, TX.
He is survived by his older brother, Dr Wallace Davis, Dallas TX, daughter and son-in-law, Mike and Sharron Barton of OKC, his grandson and wife, Shane & Tammy Lovett of Joshua, TX, Kyle Barton of OKC and Travis Lovett, Altus, OK along with many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, April 4, 2025, at Lunn's Colonial Chapel located at 2812 Midwestern Pkwy, Wichita Falls, TX, 76308 with Bro. Bobby Gonzales officiating.
