William Arkie Day

RICHLANDS - William "Arkie" Day ,88, of Richlands, was born May 11, 1937, in Coldiron, Kentucky and went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Jones Funeral Home, Richlands Chapel. with a visitation an hour prior. Graveside services will be held at a later date at the Day Family cemetery in Wallins Creek, Kentucky.

Mr. Day was a faithful Christian whose life reflected his deep belief in serving others. He never met a stranger and left a lasting impression on countless lives through his wisdom and made the world better simply by the way he lived.

Arkie's greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his beautiful bride of 64 years, Eula Day, whose love and partnership were the foundation of his life. He also leaves behind his daughters, Kim Childers (Jimmy) and Terry Casper (Eddie); his grandchildren, Stephanie Combs (Nick), James W. Childers, Ben Casper (Keely), Charles Casper and James Casper; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Carter and Evan Combs.

Through hard work and determination, he became a self-made man, building several successful businesses over the years, including Day's Tire Service in Richlands, which he opened in 1982. He found joy in simple and meaningful pursuits. He loved fishing, spending quiet time reading the bible, cooking, music, and playing his guitar. Later in life, he became an ordained minister who loved the Lord and took every opportunity to share God's Word with others.

In keeping with his wishes, Arkie wanted his family and loved ones to party and celebrate his life, remembering not only the years he lived, but the faith and love he shared.
