William R. Dazey

William R. (Bill) Dazey, age 88, passed away on January 1, 2024

Born October 9, 1935 in Canton, Ohio, Bill lived most of his life in Akron/Uniontown/Barberton. He served in the United States Army from 1954-1957, and retired from Wade Ford. He was a member of North Springfield Presbyterian church since October, 1962, where he served as a Trustee and an Elder. After retiring, he spent many hours working in the church yard/ cemetery mowing, cleaning up leaves and planting flowers.

William is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Sarah Dazey, brother Bob and sister Patty. His is survived by Marjorie, his wife of 65 years, daughter Laura Detwiler (Don) of Uniontown, OH, sons Thomas (Dhu) of Blanchester, OH and Joseph of Fairlawn OH, three granddaughters and 7 great grandchildren, and sister Sandra Beckwith.

A visitation will held Thursday, January 11 from 4:00 to 7:00 at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, OH 44312. A memorial service will be held at North Springfield Presbyterian Church, 671 Canton Road, Akron, OH 44312 on January 12 at 11:30, the Rev. Patricia Moats presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to North Springfield Presbyterian Church.
