Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snellings Funeral Home & Crematory - George Washington Highway Chapel on Oct. 19, 2023.
In loving memory of our precious son, Earth Angel and amazingly bright light on this planet William Stewart Deacon IV, age 36. He went to be with loved ones and pets and the angels in heaven who were eagerly awaiting his arrival on October 13th, 2023 – just 5 days before his 37th birthday on October 18th. Happy Birthday William!
Although his physical body could not withstand the aggressive cancer he battled so valiantly for less than a year – His Spirit and light will live and shine on bigger and brighter than ever. Surely, a Guardian Angel to all who loved and cherished him so much in this lifetime! He is truly free now – our prayers answered!
His life here on Earth was far too short and with what seems like so much left to do but in the end he fulfilled his purpose – teaching all who knew him a higher consciousness of unconditional love and gratitude – what we have all come to learn and master – to live from and with an open, generous, kind and loving heart. To make other people's lives better for having known him.
William was such an adorable child and grew up to be a handsome, smart, accomplished, unique and hilariously funny young man. He was born in Virginia Beach and grew up in Chesapeake – graduated from Hickory High School in 2005, went to Virginia Tech and later graduated from The College of William and Mary with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing. He went on to work in the marketing world of business and then landed his dream job as a High School Business Teacher. He loved his sports teams – The Phillies, The Tigers, The Eagles and The Lions. He grew up playing baseball with Chesapeake Little League, and basketball recreationally and for Hickory. He later volunteered as a coach in the summers. William loved Comedy, the movies, his music and all animals so much. He was such a magnetic energy and multi-talented in the arts, sports and business.
We want to thank everyone who cared for, visited called wrote to and prayed for William over the last year. He loved you all very much, and was so grateful and humbled by your loved for him.
William is survived his loving and devoted parents, Terese and Stewart Deacon - his sister and brother-in-law, Darlene and Ryan Ketchmark – his grandfather, Frederick Calhoun (and Peggy) – his Grandmother, Carol Jill McCabe – his beloved Golden Doodle dog, Penny. Also survived by his Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Nephews – Kathleen and Maciej Calhoun, Helene Calhoun Lee, Timothy Lee Sr., Kevin Deacon, Steven Deacon, Mary Carmen Deacon, Timothy and Hannah Lee, Ashley Lee, Kayla and Matthew Mader, Frederic Lee, Elizabeth Calhoun, Sean Calhoun, Kevin Deacon Jr., Tony Deacon, Liam Ketchmark, and Henry Lee. He is pre-deceased by his baby sister, Katie Deacon.
His family will host a Celebration of Life for William on Saturday, October 28th from 2-5PM at The Deacon Household: 1005 Kendale Circle,
Chesapeake, VA 23322. Wear your favorite sports team shirts and hats (preferably Phillies!), and bring your game face and fond memories! In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of William to
your favorite charity – they are all important.
Until we meet again – shine brightly, William. May blessings and love shine on all of us always.
