WILLIAM DIENO Obituary

Published by Comox Valley Echo from Aug. 6 to Aug. 8, 2013.
WILLIAM CRAIG DIENO August 24, 1949 – July 31, 2013 Craig passed away unexpectedly while on the disc golf course at Fir Meadows in Courtenay which he helped design and create. Craig is predeceased by his mother "Billy" Dieno. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife of 37 years, June, his sons Dan and Graeme (Greta), his father Harold Dieno, his sister Lesley Dieno and her daughter Sarah, his brother Gordon Dieno and Gordon's daughters Jennifer (Mike) and Katie (Geoff) as well as numerous other relatives and friends here in Canada and throughout the world. Craig's belief and trust in God has reunited him with our missing family members who have gone before him. In his leisure time Craig enjoyed tennis, disc golf and made many friends through those activities with whom he enjoyed spending time. He willingly volunteered to help in any situation and received loving relationships from those he helped. A Celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Dear June, Dan & Graeme, I loved getting to see you again yesterday. I haven't seen you boys for so many years and as I watched you throughout your Dads ceremony, I felt this deep pride that I know he would have felt watching over you. June you showed us all, why Craig loved you so much. Your strength, your sweetness and your love. I will never forget Craig and his beautiful spirit. We are all better having know him, that's for sure. May God give you strength to endure Craigs loss and to carry on as I would know he would want you all to. Love and Thankyou for yesterday Rita & Jim Bielli

June, Danny, and Graeme, we were shocked and saddened to hear of Craig's sudden passing and our hearts go out to you at this time. I first met Craig in 1961 at P.G where he established himself as a ringleader of the infamous Class 26. As the years passed his legend grew with his lust for life and the various manifestations it took. Thinking of "Diens" will always put a smile on my face. He was truly one of a kind and will be sadly missed. With love, Jack, Shirly & Georgia

Dear June,Danny and Graeme,
I am so sorry to hear of Craig's passing I have truly lost a good friend and neighbor. When I was going through a difficult time in my life, Craig's advice and smile was my medication for the day. I am not a religious person but today I thanked God I was lucky enough to be a friend of Craig Dieno.

Hi June, Dan and Graeme,

There is nothing that can be said to make anything good of Craig's passing, but we are so, so sorry and hope you are doing as well as can be. I have lots of great memories of Craig, and he was such a major part in my families life, for which I know everyone is eternally grateful.
