William Docca Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Holloway Funeral Home - Salisbury on Oct. 1, 2025.
William "Bill" Francis Docca, 86, passed away peacefully in the early hours of September 20, 2025, in Salisbury, Maryland. Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, on February 15, 1939, Bill spent more than 60 years in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area (DMV), including four decades in Silver Spring, Maryland. There, he built a quiet, meaningful life filled with daily routines, laughter, and long runs through the Sligo Creek trails.
Bill served honorably in the United States Air Force before beginning a long and successful civilian career. He worked as a senior sales associate at Woodward & Lothrop, Quality Assurance Evaluator for General Dynamics and later served as Branch Vice President at Reed Technology, a contractor for the U.S. Patent Office in Alexandria, Virginia. Known for his meticulous nature, Bill was a creature of habit with a generous heart and a razor-sharp wit, a master storyteller whose tales could fill a room with laughter.
He had a deep love for reading, movies, pop culture, technology, and sports. He remained a lifelong Red Sox fan, while also cheering passionately for the Washington Nationals and Redskins-never missing a game if he could help it. He ran every day through his cherished Sligo Creek trails, participated in countless marathons and races, even completing a 5K with his family at the age of 80. Bill never lost his curiosity or his sense of wonder about the world. He was an early adopter, a lifelong learner, and a fan of long chats over lunch, especially with his granddaughter.
He was the cherished husband of the late Sandra Docca; a proud father to William "Doc" Docca and his wife Corinne; and a devoted "Grandaddy" to his beloved grandchildren, Carly Docca- Palmer (Dustyn), Jake Docca, and Luke Docca. Bill is also survived by his younger siblings-John Froias, Steve Froias (Muriel), and Linda DeMello (Alfred) as well as his dear friend Marquita Moore, whose companionship brought him lasting joy and laughter. In his later years, he was surrounded by the steadfast love and care of his family, whose devotion provided him with deep comfort and dignity.
