William Franklin Dudney, affectionately known as Bill, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025, at NHC in Cookeville, Tennessee. He was born on October 28, 1934, in Hendersonville, Tennessee, he led a life defined by faith, service, and friendship.

Bill proudly served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, achieving the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. His dedication to his country was matched only by his commitment to his community and the people he loved. Bill was a faithful Christian and a long-time member of the Center Grove Church of Christ, where he shared his faith and values. He was deeply involved in Indian Mission Work, making numerous trips to India, which reflected his unwavering commitment to his beliefs and to helping others.

Bill's heart was deeply invested in his relationships. He took great delight in celebrating the birthdays of his friends, making it a personal mission to buy cakes and create joyful moments that would be cherished. His friends Jack and Becky Honeycutt, along with Marie Martin, were especially dear to him, forming bonds that defined much of his later years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Landon Dudney and Anna Mary Quarles Dudney, whose teachings and values shaped him into the man we remember today. His beloved wife, Lenora L. Dudney, whose love enriched his life, and his brother George Dudney.

Bill's life was one of service, love, and faith, and he will be greatly missed by all who were touched by his spirit.

Visitation services will be held at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, Tennessee, on August 14, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on August 15, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, prior to the funeral service, which will begin at 11:00 AM with Bro. Ronald Strong and Bro. Jack Honeycutt officiating, burial will follow in the John L Clark Memorial Cemetery in Gainesboro, Tennessee.

Pallbearers are James Ransom, Randy Duke, Titus Anderson, Ty Kirby, Hugh W. Clark, Steve Draper, and honorary Pallbearers is missionaries to India.

In lieu of flowers, Bill's personal request is for donations to be made to India Children's Home. This can be done by contacting the business office of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home.
