Funeral Services for William Edward “Ed” Jones will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 21, 2024, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia, with Rev. Doug DeGraffenreid officiating. Burial will follow at Arcadia Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
William Edward “Ed” Jones passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024, peacefully at home after battling several illnesses. His loving family was by his side.
Ed was born on December 12, 1953, in Arcadia, LA, to Roy and “B.I.” Jones. He graduated from Terrebonne High School in Houma, LA, and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana Tech University, as well as multiple other educational accomplishments. Ed married the love of his life, Kathie Roberts, in 1978, later welcoming two daughters, Jessica and Katey.
Early in life, Ed learned the importance of hard work and instilled that same work ethic in his children and grandchildren. He was a man of strong faith and taught the importance of family, hard work, and doing what was right. Ed’s children and grandchildren were his true pride and joy. He was a true role model, who was always looked up to.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents Edward Roy Jones and Billie John Deas Jones, and by grandparents Stewart and Irene Deas, and Doswell and Jessie Jones.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife Kathie Roberts Jones, of Arcadia, LA, daughters Jessica Jones Currin and husband Jason, of Lindale, TX, and Katey Jones Pearce and husband Jay, of Arcadia, LA, sister Donna Jones Ratcliff and husband David, of Taylor, AR, brother Jeff Jones and wife DeYvonne, of Arcadia, LA, grandchildren Cannon and Easton Pearce, and Hope and Hunter Currin, and by numerous other cousins and other loving family and friends.
Honoring Ed as pallbearers will be Jay Pearce, Jason Currin, Justin Perritt, Bart Dobson, Buck Wilkins, and Colton Wilkins.
The family would like to say a special Thank You to Best Home Health Care, Bristol Hospice, Carolyn Allen, and Kenny and Linda Pearson for the love and support over the last few months.
He is now at peace, but will forever live in our hearts.
