William Dan "Danny" Edge

William Dan "Danny" Edge, age 73, of Grapeland, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023 at his home. Danny was born September 26, 1949 in Liberty to parents, Herbert Edge and Edith Morris Edge. He graduated from Farmersville High School and served as a Medic in the United States Army in Vietnam and later in the United States Navy. Danny was a barber and a truck driver who also loved to hunt and fish, with hunting being his favorite. God and his family were the most important in his life. His most important role to him was being Papa and Grandpa to his grandchildren, they were the light of his life and he was their number one fan. Danny was a kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather and was a faithful member of the Harvest Church in Crockett.
Danny is survived by wife of 43 years, Jessie Chambless Edge of Grapeland; daughter, Jessica Edge Stafford of Grapeland; son, William Lynn Edge of Votaw; son, Monty Edge and wife, Kellie of Van Alstyne; daughter, Rosa Goodenow and husband, Richie of Van Alstyne; daughter, Ellen Eldred of Deer Park, Washington; grandchildren, Ryder Stafford and Roan Stafford of Grapeland, Sydni Smart and husband, Taylor of Warren, Tillman Edge and Harley Brunson of Votaw, Andrea Edge and Blake Odom of Warren, MJ Edge of Van Alstyne, Gabi Edge of Jacksboro, Sierra Goodenow, David Goodenow, Felicia Pence, Cheyenne Goodenow all of Van Alstyne; great-grandchildren, Olivia Smart of Warren, Tucker Edge of Votaw, Bella Pence, Jaxx Pence, Donnie Pence, and Linda Pence of Van Alstyne; brother, Leland Edge of Copeville; sisters, Betty Gilliland of Murchison, Wanda Cullum of Wolf City, Shelia Edge and Andrew Chapa of Wolf City, Brenda Gray and Chuck of Caddo Mills; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends including special friends, Irene Anderson, Nelda Matthews, Pat Surginer, Mike and Teresa McDanel, Jessica and Heath Murff, Patti (Duwaine) Rains. He was preceded in death by father, Herbert Edge; mother, Edith Morris Edge; brothers, Paul and Tim Edge; sister-in-law, Pat Edge; and brother-in-law, Roy Gilliland.
Funeral services for William Dan "Danny" Edge will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 27, 2023 at the Harvest Church with Pastor Dennis Ivey officiating. Interment will follow in the Parker Cemetery. Family will receive visitors Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Callaway-Allee Funeral Home.
