William Timothy Elgin

William Timothy "Tim" Elgin, 65, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2026. He was born October 15, 1960 in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late William and Katherine (Egan) Elgin. Also preceded in death by sister Madeline (Elgin) Eyerman, brother-in-law Gary Buskirk, nephews Matthew Gall and Justin Murnane and great-nephew Gracen Frazier.

Survived by his siblings Mary (Paul) Sweeney, brother-in-law Tom Eyerman, sister Connie Elgin, sister Julie (Elgin) Buskirk, brother Karl (Kerin) Elgin, many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, other family and friends. 

Tim was a devoted son, brother and uncle who also cared about his neighbors and neighborhood. 

Tim graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts Magna Cum Laude with Dictation, a Master of Art in Political Science as well as a Certificate in Slavic and Eastern European Studies.  

Tim was an avid OSU Football Fan. He truly loved his dogs, each and every one adopted from the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center. Tim was passionate about reading and literature. He also loved to garden. Tim was known for his sharp mind and quick wit. 

Friends may call Monday, February 23, 2026 at 4pm at the Newcomer NE Chapel 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd. A prayer service will begin at 7pm. 

Since Tim was an avid OSU Football fan, please attend wearing your favorite OSU apparel.
