William Everett "Bill" Ellwood Sr.

William Everett Ellwood, affectionately known as Bill, passed away surrounded by his loving family on December 30, 2023. His life was a testament to love and dedication, exemplified in his 62-year marriage to his cherished wife, Mary M. Ellwood (nee Tucholka). Bill was a pillar of strength and love for his family, deeply adored as a father by Trudy M. Smith and her husband Reginall, Elmer L. Ellwood and his partner Shelly Wilcox, the late William "Billy" E. Ellwood, Jr., and Eric E. Ellwood.
His legacy of love continued through his role as a doting grandfather to Zachary Smith and his wife Chelsea, Cody Smith and his wife Ashley, and Lauren Barley and her husband John. He was also a proud and cherished great-grandfather to Bradley, Myles, and Avery Smith; Josh and Leilah Jordan; and Ember Barley. Bill's brotherly bond was shared with Francis Ellwood and the late Claire Lee Haines, George Ellwood, Walter Ellwood, Wade Ellwood, Jim Ellwood, Jack Ellwood, and Kenny Ellwood. His warm spirit will also be fondly remembered by numerous loving nieces and nephews.
To celebrate Bill's life and cherish his memory, family and friends are invited to gather at the E. F. Lassahn Funeral Home, P.A., 11750 Belair Road in Kingsville. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral service honoring Bill's life will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 11:00 am. Following the service, Bill will be laid to rest at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Cemetery in Long Green, leaving a legacy of love and cherished memories in the hearts of all who knew him.
