William "Andy" Emerson passed away Saturday, November 22, after a diagnosis of colon cancer in March. Born in Baton Rouge, LA, this valentine baby grew up in Maryland, Huntsville and Hoover, AL. He graduated from Berry High School and attended the University of Alabama where he made the smartest decision of his life, to take a semester off and be a ski bum in Breckenridge, Colorado. Here he met and married his wife of 41 years. He returned to the University of Alabama where he earned his degree in Business and Finance. He worked in Retirement and Pensions in the banking industry and later as a Business Analyst in technology, but no one could ever understand exactly what he did. For 32 years they raised their two wonderful sons, Benjamin and Mitchell, in Atlanta. Upon retirement they moved to Lake Guntersville which Andy would say was his best move. He loved to coach his boys in all sports and was so very proud of them. He loved to play golf with the singular goal of trying to beat his brother, Bo. Up until his diagnosis, he played full court basketball and pickleball and, prior to retiring, had become involved in woodworking. He built beautiful tables, bookshelves and other projects for friends and family. If you took a tour of his workshop, you earned a wooden star to take home. He was a talented dancer, "scatter", and spades player. What he loved most was his family. The traditional family Thanksgiving gathering was the highlight of each year.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Faye Emerson.

He is survived by his wife, Tracy; sons Benjamin (Marla) Emerson, and Mitchell Emerson;

Siblings: Bo (Rhonda) Emerson, Kim (Frank) Harbin, Kari Emerson; and numerous

nieces and nephews that he loved very much.

In lieu of flowers: Donations can be made to the Scottsboro Rec*Com adult Basketball

and Pickleball.
