William Paul Emick
CHADRON - William Paul Emick, longtime Chadron resident, passed away quietly on December 27 in Chadron NE. Paul was born on November 7, 1950 in Scottsbluff NE to William "Bill" and Helen Wood Emick. He spent his childhood growing up in Scottsbluff, Lawrence KS, and Riverton WY and was active in Boy Scouts and swim teams. The family moved to Chadron in 1968. He graduated from Chadron High School in 1969 and four years later from Chadron State College with an Industrial Arts degree. Through the years, Paul worked for his father in the Gambles store, Dau Plumbing, Country General and Henkens Implement.
Paul's many hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, playing guitar, watching Husker football, repairing things and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed Sunday dinners at his mother's every week and taking care of her in her advanced years.
Paul is survived by his sisters, Lois (Jim) Fauerbach of Emporia, KS and Patricia Emick (Mark Leppert) of Kansas City, MO. He is also survived by sister-in-law Pam Emick of Chadron, nieces and nephew: Debra Fauerbach (Stewart Williams) of Shawnee, KS, Mark (Brenda) Fauerbach of Kansas City, MO, Diana (Rob) Himmelmann of Highlands Ranch, CO, Lisa (Victor) Guajardo and Tara Bates of Chadron and Nicole (Nick) Roberts of Kansas City, MO, as well as great nieces and nephew: Kiara Emick, Jacee Bates and RJ Bates of Chadron, Bianca and Jocelyn Himmelmann of Highlands Ranch and Hailey and Emily Roberts of Kansas City. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tom Emick of Chadron.
