William Roy "Buck" England, age 75, a former resident of Philippi and Buckhannon WV., a beloved husband, father, and brother passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the Wyant Woods Healthcare Center in Akron Ohio. He had been declining in health for some time. He was born on July 14, 1950, in Philippi WV., a son of the late William Henry England, and Lucille Maxine (Swiger) England. Buck found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, embracing his role as a devoted husband to the former Charlene Barbara Wratchford, who survives in Akron, Ohio. William leaves behind two sons; Shawn "Slice" England and Jamie England, three sisters; Linda England Bennett, Etta Knotts, and Norma Jean Stewart, several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. He was proceeded in death by two brothers; Infant Stephen Wayne England, and Roger "Buddy" England, one sister; Barbara Jane England. Mr. England attended the schools of Barbour County. Buck attended Silent Grove Church. He worked as a lumber stacker for Coastal Lumber until he became disabled, he and his wife, Charlene used to walk the streets of Philippi, she would be a mile ahead of him, and he would be trailing behind her every step of the way. He also loved hunting, fishing, and he loved his coffee black. The community is invited to join us in honoring Buck's life and legacy at the Kittle Family Funeral Home 265 Beech Ave., Philippi on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 4pm until 7 pm where family and friends can come together to share stories and memories of a man whose laughter and compassion touched countless lives. In honoring William's wishes his remains will be cremated. The Kittle Family Funeral Home of Philippi is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
