William L. Everman, 81, of Gas City, passed away in his home at 2:35 pm on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. He was born in Logansport, Indiana, on Sunday, February 27, 1944, to Robert and Margaret (Kesler) Everman. On February 29, 2000, he married Jennie Snyder, who survives.
William attended Mentone High School. He was a proud United States Marine, carrying that honor with him throughout his life. His dedication to service and community was reflected in his lifetime memberships with American Legion Post 95, VFW Post 60, and Fairmount Lodge 635 of the Freemasons. Since 2012, he was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans, as well as the Sheriff's Association and the Marine Corps League. Professionally, he worked for J&J Erectors in Marion and devoted 55 years to the Operators Union, a testament to his loyalty and work ethic. He was also a great car show enthusiast. Beyond his service, work and affiliations, he gave generously to numerous organizations, but his heart was especially tied to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, ensuring joy for children and continuing the spirit of giving that defined his life.
William is survived by his wife, Jenny Everman; sons, Steve (Dee) Everman, Ric (Tracy) Everman, Max (Amber) Warren; brother, Robert Everman, Jr., grandchildren, Courtney (Nick) Greeson, Dylan Warren, Noah Pullum, Shelby Bryan-Manry, Alex Everman, Alisha Everman, Sofia Guy, Lucy Guy; great grandson, Coleson Greeson; many nieces and nephews, including his niece and caregiver, Cheryl (Robert) Devine.
The family would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice and especially David Miller and his team for their tender and supportive care of William.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert W. and Margaret Eloise Everman.
A graveside service to honor William's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 8, 2025 at Marion National Cemetery 1700 E. 38th St., Marion, IN.
Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
