William "Bill" Michael Finney, 73, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024 at his home.
Bill was born on October 18, 1950, in Michigan City, IN, to William and Dorothy (Tarwater) Finney.
On April 1, 1996 in Michigan City, IN, he married Virginia "Jenny" Duncan who survives. Also surviving are his 4 sons, Michael, Ty, Trey, and Frank Finney; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Finney; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Joey McCoy; parents, William and Dorothy Finney; and several brothers.
Bill proudly served in the U.S. Army, where he was part of Special Ops. While in the Army, he earned 2 Purple Hearts, the Bronze Star, and 2 Combat Infantryman Badges.
He worked in the Blast Furnace at Bethlehem Steel for many years. Bill was a member of the D.A.V., Chappy's, lifetime member of the VFW Skwiat Post, and the Glory Stompers Motorcycle Club. His passion was outlaw country-western music. He was a proud member of the Old Habits Band.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in c/o Virginia "Jenny" Finney, 2900 Monroe Street. La Porte, IN 46350 or to the donor's choice.
