Roy was born in Coaling, AL on September 13, 1921 and died in Coaling on September 11, 2025. Services will be at Coaling Methodist Church on Monday, September 15, 2025 at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. The visitation is set one hour before the funeral.
As a member of the Greatest Generation, Roy served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. Unknowingly, he worked on the Manhattan Project in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Roy Foster was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Medders Foster; son, Billy Foster; brothers, Wayne, Marvin, Charley; and sisters, Warrene F. Norris, Lucy F. Snider, Sarah F. Hicks, and Jean F. Hyche. Roy outlived 35 first cousins.
Roy leaves behind his daughter, Judy Foster; best friend, Barbara Hankins; niece, Nancy Snider, and a host of nieces and nephews. Other survivors are five cows and three calves.

Pallbearers are Stan Bush, Wayne Foster, Brian Foster, Paul Foster, Glynn Snider, Donnie Wheeler, Jonah Hayes, and Kelly Bush.
Honorary pallbearers are George LeGrone, Maury "B" Morrison, Ricky Hatter, Randel Adkins, Joel King, and Luke Wheeler.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of West Alabama or Coaling Methodist Church.
Roy Foster was a cherished member of the Coaling Methodist Church and the town of Coaling.
