William C. “Bug” Gaulding III, 54, of Victoria Virginia passed February 17th, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, William C. “Billy Carroll” Gaulding Jr. and Rebecca Ayers Seamster; his wife, Tammy Phelps Gaulding; step-father David “Skinny” Seamster and step-brother Lee Simpson.

He is survived by his daughter Diamond Cawthorne of Henrico; step-son, Dan Glasscock (Kaitlyn) of Baskerville; two brothers, Ed Martin (Terri) of Chesterfield and Dwayne Gaulding of South Hill; sister, Brandy Gaulding Roque of Richmond; step-siblings, Tony Seamster (Jessica) of Brodnax, April Seamster of Bracey and Ashley Simpson-Lewis (Tommy) of Victoria; step-mother Becky Gaulding of Amelia; nieces, Taylor-Dru Gaulding of South hill, Haley Robshaw (Aaron) of St Augustine Fl, Skylar and Willow Gaulding of South Hill, Lilly Simpson of Crewe, Trinity Henson of Richmond, and Ainsley Gaulding of Monroe, NC; nephews Shaydon Roque of Chase City, Michael Gaulding of Lacrosse and Raylan Gaulding of South Hill; numerous great-nieces, nephews and cousins. Bug held a special place in his heart for a few kids he helped raise and considered family; Rena White, Hunter Meade, Coby Lewis and Allison Ryan.

Bug was a Contractor by trade for over 30 years. He was a man of faith and family. He was a talented artist who tattooed for a number of years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, swimming, camping, canoeing, motorcycles and cookouts with friends. He was a volunteer for Warrior Hunts of Virginia for several years, a member of the National Wild Turkey Foundation, a volunteer for the Staunton Meherrin chapter of the NWTF, supporter of the Jakes program and provided support for the annual Wheeling Sportsman Dove Hunt with Juniper Creek Hunt Club. NWTF said it best, “Bug's heart was as big as they came. His unwavering love for the outdoors, kids and veterans was unmatched and was definitely shown through his dedication to the Stauton-Meherrin Chapter of the NWTF.” He gave back to his community and provided support to family and friends. He loved life and his freedom. He didn’t take life for granted and lived life to the fullest. His larger than life personality will never be forgotten by those who knew and loved him.

A celebration of his life will be planned at another time by his family and announced on Facebook. A memorial motorcycle ride is tentatively planned for April 20, 2025. Proceeds from that will go to the causes Bug volunteered with and was passionate about.
