William J. Gerlock
Age 88, of New Lenox, IL passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Lightways Hospice, Joliet, IL. Bill was born in Chicago, IL to the late William and Mary (nee Exaver) Gerlock.
Beloved husband of the late Geraldine J. "Gerri" Gerlock (nee Halloran); loving father of John (Colleen) Gerlock, Jennifer (Don) Booth, Jim (Angelique) Gerlock, and Kevin (Rachael) Gerlock; cherished grandfather of Annie (Dennis) Bowman, Billy (Chris) Gerlock, Nicole (Chris) Jones, Amanda (Brett) Kryska, Jackie (Bill) Gibbs, Bob (Amanda) Booth, Brent (fiancée Megan Thissen), Alex Gerlock, Trevor Gerlock, Colin Gerlock, Liam Gerlock and Fiona Gerlock; proud great grandfather of 14; dear brother of the late Mary Lou (late Richard) Melin; loved uncle, cousin, and friend of many.
Bill retired from AT&T (Illinois Bell). He was a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran. Bill enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox fan. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bill’s name to Lightways Hospice, Joliet, IL, would be appreciated.
Family will receive friends at St. Jude Catholic Church 241 W. Second Ave, New Lenox on Monday, February 9, 2026, from 10:00 am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Entombment to follow at Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery, Orland Park, IL.
