William (Billy) Thomas Gilmer of Lecanto, Florida was taken up in Glory to Heaven, suddenly on December 18, 2024. He was 65 years old. Billy was born April 6, 1959, in Huntington, New York, to parents Joan and William (rip). Billy graduated from Kings Park High School, Kings Park, New York, in 1977. Billy was a varsity wrestler and enjoyed auto mechanics in vocational tech class during High School. While still in High School, Billy began a family landscaping and lawn maintenance business, working alongside his brothers and father. Billy continued this career for over 50 years owning Gilmer Lawn Service operating in Citrus County, Florida since 1997. He is survived by brothers Michael, his wife and sister-in-law Yvonne, David, his wife and sister-in-law Crystal, and Patrick; nieces and nephews Desmond, Mollie, Zackary, Andrew, Gabriel, Ryan, Sophia, grand-nephews Declan, Caden, and grand-niece Vanessa.
A Celebration of Life service and gathering will be held at Lifetree Church, 1501 SE US Highway 19, Crystal River, Florida 34429, on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at 2pm.
A Catholic funeral mass is scheduled at Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 6455 SW State Rd 200, Ocala, Florida, 34476, on Monday, January 20, 2025, at 8am. He will be buried on the Church property following the mass.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks to please make donations to Lifetree Church, which will be used to further community outreach and recovery programs.
