William "Buddy" Ray Goudeau, 79, of Fayetteville; passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024, at his home. He was born Sunday, May 20, 1945, at Haynesville, Louisiana; to William "Scott" Allen and Nannie Clementine Traylor Goudeau.
Buddy earned his bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University. During his college years, he met Terry Aurora Freeman, and they were married on Saturday, December 29, 1990, in Lafayette, Louisiana. He worked as a financial analyst for Unisys and proudly served in the Louisiana National Guard. In 2007, Buddy and Terry relocated to Huntsville, where they built a home and joined Presley Chapel United Methodist Church. In his leisure time, Buddy enjoyed playing golf, watching sports-especially LSU football-and rarely missed an episode of Jeopardy. He was also a talented artist known for his charcoal works. Buddy was cherished as a great friend who deeply cared for others.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nannie Goudeau; his twin sister, Gloria DuBose; and his sister, Bethlyn Goudeau. He is survived by his wife, Terry Goudeau, of the home; one nephew and niece-in-law, Shane and Adrienne DuBose, of Houston, Texas; and two great-nieces, Madelein and Chloe.
A visitation will be held 9:00 AM-10:00 AM, Friday, September 6, 2024 in the Fellowship Hall of Presley Chapel United Methodist Church. His memorial service will begin at 10:00 AM in the chapel with Ryan Baccus officiating.
Private interment will be held at a later date in the Masonic Cemetery #2, New Orleans, Louisiana. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Presley Chapel Memorial Fund, 2624 North Highway 127, Huntsville, AR 72740.
