William Brandsford Greene III

William Brandsford Greene III passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024, in Louisville, KY. Will was a beloved father, partner, son, brother, friend and cherished member of the Louisville community. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Will was born in Natchez, MS on November 15, 1973, and later moved to Baton Rouge, LA where he graduated from Catholic High School as class president and a multi-sport student athlete. He proudly attended Tulane University in New Orleans, LA as a Dean's Honor Scholar, the school's most prestigious academic scholarship. After completing his undergraduate and graduate studies at Tulane, he moved to San Francisco to begin his investment banking career. In 2003, he transitioned to Vanguard Cleaning, Inc., eventually becoming vice president of the company's franchise program.
In 2010, Will and his wife Stephanie moved to Louisville, fulfilling his dream of owning his own business. He successfully opened Vanguard Cleaning Systems of Louisville and later expanded the business to Indianapolis.
Beyond his professional and academic achievements, Will was a respected member of the Louisville community. He operated his business to serve his employees, customers and fellow franchise owners. Passionate about the environment, and was a LEED Certified Green Associate and served as a member of the Board of Directors for both St. George's Scholar Institute and the Waterfront Botanical Gardens. He dedicated countless hours to volunteering with those organizations and at his children's school.
Will was known for his extraordinary gregariousness, creating deep and lasting friendships. His loving nature will truly be missed by all who knew him.
Will is survived by his family, Stephanie Greene; his children, Owen and Emma; his sister, Patricia Greene of Baton Rouge, LA; and his mother, Emily Greene of Baton Rouge, LA. He is preceded in death by his father, William Brandsford Greene, Jr.
Funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00am, Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 501 Cherrywood Road. Burial will be private at Cave Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00pm Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Will's name to St. George's Scholar Institute or Waterfront Botanical Gardens.
