In loving memory of Bill Grimes, July 11, 1937-May 28, 2025
With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Bill Grimes, on May 28, 2025. Bill peacefully joined his Savior in heaven, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and faith. Born on July 11, 1937, Bill shared his birthday with his favorite twin girls, a joyful coincidence that he treasured.
A proud veteran, Bill honorably served 20 years in the United States Air Force, including two tours in Vietnam, retiring with distinction at the rank of Master Sergeant.
In 1981, Bill married the love of his life, Sara Grimes, and embraced fatherhood to her 4 year-old identical twin daughters with unwavering love and devotion. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, commitment, and joy that spanned 44 wonderful years.
After retiring from the military, Bill continued serving his community through his work with the City of Toledo, Ohio, in the Traffic Signals Division, and later with Volusia County Schools in Florida. Yet, his most cherished role came later in life: being a grandfather. He was the proud "Papa" to three amazing grandchildren, who were the life of his life and his greatest joy.
Bill lived each of his 87 years with purpose, humility, and a deep love for God. He served the Lord faithfully and was a constant source of strength and encouragement to all who knew him.
We celebrate the life of Bill Grimes-patriot, protector, provider, and prayer warrior. He will be deeply missed, but we find peace in knowing he is now in the arms of his Savior.
