William Hamrick Obituary

Published by Legacy from Jul. 24 to Jul. 30, 2025.
William "Bill" Hamrick, 87, of Tomball, Texas, passed away on July 19, 2025. Born on July 8, 1938, in Gorman, Texas, Bill lived a life marked by faith, family, and dedication.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Joy Carolyn Hamrick. Together, they built a life rooted in love, strength, and enduring commitment. Bill was a devoted father to his two daughters, Jana Davis of Spring, Texas, and Kristen Faircloth of Raleigh, North Carolina, as well as a beloved father-in-law to Larry Faircloth of Raleigh.

Bill was a proud and caring grandfather to four grandchildren: Justin Faircloth and Leah Faircloth of New York City, Will Davis with wife, Hailey of Houston, Texas, and Lauren Davis of Spring, Texas. He is also survived by his sister, Kathryn Rifkin of Tallahassee, Florida; sister- and brother-in-law Margaret and Joe Hermes of Edna, Texas; and sister- and brother-in-law Janet and Mike Miller of Corpus Christi, Texas.

He leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews from the areas of Edna, Houston, and Dallas, Texas, as well as Tallahassee, Florida - all of whom he loved dearly.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Cockrill Hamrick and Billie Dee Hamrick, as well as his sister, Joan Gardner.

Bill spent many years working at Curtis 1000 and Gulf Business Forms, where he was known for his reliability, strong work ethic, and the genuine friendships he built that lasted a lifetime.

A man of deep faith, Bill was a longtime member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Houston. His involvement in the church was a reflection of his enduring belief in service, community, and spiritual life.

Bill will be remembered for his quiet strength, gentle heart, and unwavering dedication to his family and faith. He was an avid sports fan, amateur weatherman and loved watching NCIS. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The family will be coming together for a private memorial service at a later date to honor his life and the many memories they shared with him.

They are incredibly grateful for the love and support during this time. Your kind words, stories, and condolences mean so much and can be shared here on this website as a way to remember and celebrate his life.

I spent 32 years with Curtis and Bill is the one who hired me in September of 1981. He didn't like the fact that one of my previous jobs was with the US Government, but he told me it was a strike in my favor that I quit that job. He was my first Sales Manager and had great faith in me that I could make it with Curtis. I owe much of my success to Bill.

God bless you all and be with you. Bill was a great boss. He did a lot for me. He hired me in July 1981and I did not go to Atlanta until September. He told me he thought I might quit before I went to Atlanta. I did not and Bill was always in my corner. Peace and grace to all of the family. Mike Miller

I am trying to write down ALL of the Correct WORDS to describe my Feelings for Bill Hamrick. He guided and befriended, so Many people in his "TIME" with Curtis 1000 and Gulf Business Forms. I was LUCKY enough to share some of that TIME with him. He was a Kind and Generous Teacher, Salesman, and Boss.
Bill Hamrick was a VERY GOOD MAN. There are MANY who will miss him.
