William Michael Hankey, Sr.
September 29, 1939 – November 2, 2025
William “Mike” Michael Hankey, Sr., of Elgin, Texas, passed away on November 2, 2025.
Born and raised in Austin, Mike spent his career as a bricklayer and vocational educator. He was known for his sharp wit, honesty, and genuine care for others. He was a natural storyteller who brought humor and perspective to every situation.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Hankey; son Randall and his wife Donya Stockton; son Billy and his wife Colette; and daughter Amy.
Mike celebrated 51 years of sobriety in June and approached life with gratitude and determination. His greatest passion was counseling those struggling with addiction. His presence, guidance, and humor will be deeply missed by those who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the ASPCA or organization of your choice.
