William Hubert "Bill" Hicks

William (Bill) Hubert Hicks of Hartly, DE passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Beebe Hospital. He was 56.
Bill was born September 24, 1969, in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Ballard Ray Hicks, Sr. and Ruth Ann Simpson Hicks.
He worked as a mechanic. Bill was a Jack of all trades and a hard worker. He was funny, kindhearted and loved hard. Bill enjoyed spending time with family and friends, telling jokes (always said to the grandkids, black coffee and air sandwiches was for dinner), collecting coins and watches, driving the Amish, tinkering with projects, caring for all kinds of animals, watching the Voice, cop shows and listening to comedians.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Ballard Ray Hicks, Jr., Daniel Lee Hicks, Sr. and Michael Anthony Hicks.
He is survived by his beloved companion, Bevaly Rust; daughter, Amber Blanchfield and her husband Matthew; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Matthew, Natalie, Zoe, Nancy, Dallas, Abigail and Chevy; siblings, Sheila Brooks and her husband Wayne, Tina Barlow and her husband, Nicholas, Charles Hicks and Delta Smith and her husband Andy; his dogs, Sofia and Oliver and several nieces and nephews.
