William "Bill" Gregory Hill, age 83, of
Middletown, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 10, 2025. He was born on June 3, 1941, in Middletown to the late William Jones Hill and Mary (Gregory) Abrams.
A proud lifelong resident of Middletown, Bill worked as a dedicated Press Man at the Middletown Journal and later as a chase driver for Odesa Car Auction. Known for his strong work ethic and lively spirit, Bill was never one to sit still for long.
Bill had a passion for collecting stamps and coins and loved dancing and roller skating in his younger years. A man of many interests, he was a history buff, a diehard Republican, and a proud supporter of local sports. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Bengals, and Reds fan, as well as a loyal follower of Louisville Basketball. He sponsored numerous local teams and enjoyed bowling in the League on the Bill Hill Bondsman team.
Always the life of the party, Bill loved front porch sitting, sharing jokes, and telling stories. He had a green thumb and found joy in both flower and vegetable gardening.
Bill is survived by his loving children, Greg (Kim) Hill, Melissa Hill, Jennifer (Chad) Marcum, and Kayla (Eric) Dunn; step-children, Kirk (Pam) Groff, Renee (Kim) Francis, and Kelly (Jason Senften) Powers; his cherished grandchildren, Ashley, Paige, Brooke, Braden, Chelsey, Hannah, Benson, Marlee, Eli, Kaitlyn, Mitchell, Kyle, and Bryce; and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Marlin "Butch" Hill, and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Jane Hill; and his daughter, Jo Ann Stamper.
Bill's larger-than-life personality, generosity, and love for life will be remembered by all who knew him.
A Memorial Gathering will be held Sunday, June 1st, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home, 6850 Roosevelt Ave.
Middletown, OH 45005. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Chaplain Todd Taylor officiating.
