Mr. Holmes passed away on June 4, 2022.
He is survived by his sister, Sandi Lea Holmes Stafford (nieces Angela Brown and Rachael Couch and nephew Chris Patterson), his brother Michael Curry "Mobile" Holmes (nephews Steve Holmes and Stephen Holmes and niece Stephanie Holmes), and half-brother James Sidney "Jimmy" Holmes and family.
His extended family are his dear friends: Jeff and Stacy Barber; Ed and Sharon Lett; Todd and Pam Means; Terry and Shelly Patterson; and a host of friends and loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jeptha Curry "Bird" Holmes, his mother, Carrie Earline Holmes, and his aunt Jan and uncle Howard Peden.
Billy was an avid sports fan and loved his alma mater Glencoe High School. He was a beloved member of his community who always helped out whenever he could. He was a devoted friend, and he will be truly missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Glencoe Athletic Foundation in Billy's name.
Billy's family would also like to extend our gratitude to the Rainbow City branch of Winsouth Credit Union for their kindness during this difficult time.
