William Christian Harry Hood, 92 formally of Farrell, PA, passed away peacefully in his home on October 16, 2025.
William affectionately known as "Junie, Bill, Wes and Papa" was born on April 16, 1933 to Elsie Mae "Clark" Hood Fields. and William Hood, Sr. He graduated from Farrell High School. He also had an Accounting degree from Youngstown School of Business.
In 1967, he married Rosa Crawford Reaves. Within this union they raised two sons and two daughters. Bill, along with his wife Rosa also served as foster parents for more than 20 years with the Bair Foundation.
Bill worked at GATX for a number of years then went to General Motors Lordstown Plant retiring from there in 1998 after 27 years of service. He was not all work though, Bill was one of the founding members of The Friendly Seven Club in Farrell.
Bill leaves to celebrate his life, his son Robin and his wife Tracy, Transfer, PA with whom he made his home. Also surviving are his brother Roy Hood, Farrell, PA; Daughter-in-law Teri Striggles (Darrell) Marietta, GA,; Grandchildren Jared Parks, (DC); Michael Parks, Farrell, PA: Robin Hood, Jr. Houston, TX; Kyle Hood (Yvonne) Honolulu, HI; Taylor Hood, Atlanta, GA; Great grandchildren Jordan, Ja'Mya, Dominique, and Ava Parks Farrell, PA; Tylajea Karkoska, Farrell, PA; Brayden, Nolan and Ian Hood, Houston, TX; Kyle III, Caiden and Zoey Hood, Honolulu HI. One great great grandson Hero Parks Franklin, PA.; a special niece, Linda Carter, Ridgecrest, CA as well as a host of family and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Elsie Fields and William Hood, his wife Rosa Hood, his sister Delores Pruitt, and his children Marilyn Wilson, Gloria J. Parks and Stefon K. Hood.
Calling hours will be held at John Flynn Funeral home in Hermitage, PA on Saturday October 25th from 9:00 to 10:00 am with a service to follow at 10:00 am. Pastor James Hosey will be officiating.
