FORT WORTH - William Franklin "Frank" Hopkins, Jr. went to be with the Lord Monday, March 13, 2023, from his home. He was surrounded by loved ones.
Frank was born Dec. 18, 1932, in Houston, Texas to William Franklin Hopkins, Sr., and Marjorie Frances (Ratliff) Hopkins. He married Karen Jean Blystone May 18, 1996.
Frank attended Paschal High School in Fort Worth and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1954. He worked in sales with two industrial manufacturing firms and spent several years in the manufactured housing industry. Later he owned and co-owned two businesses.
Frank enjoyed sailing and was a member of the Fort Worth Boat Club at Eagle Mountain Lake. He and his wife, Karen are long-time members of Christ Chapel Bible Church where they sang in the choir, attended The Harvesters Sunday School class, and participated with the creative arts team in their bi-annual musical outreach productions. Frank celebrated his 90th birthday in grand style in December, 2022 surrounded by family and dear friends.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; second son, Robert David Hopkins; and his sisters, Suzanne Hopkins Kane and Marjorie Linda Hopkins.
He is survived by his beloved wife; son, Mark Hopkins and wife, Ann of Colorado Springs, Colo.; his wife's two children, Dixie Jean Kelly and husband, Shannon of Fort Worth, Texas and Nathan Carl Longenecker and wife, Ashley of Kaufman, Texas; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Celebration of Life: 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2023, in the Chapel at Christ Chapel Bible Church in Fort Worth, Texas.
