William Amos Horton passed under hospice care at Beacon Hospice on October 3, 2025.

Bill was born December 6, 1933, at home in Aliceville, Alabama. He attended Georgia Tech University graduating with a degree in Industrial Management. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He served in the United States Army as a Green Beret, a very proud member of his Special Forces Group. During his working years, Bill held management positions in the peanut manufacturing industry throughout the Southeastern United States. He later moved his family home to Alabama where he was a cattleman managing Cunningham Farms and serving in the development of Pickens County Port, Pickensville, Alabama.

Preceded in death by his parents William A. Horton, Sr. and Margaret Cunningham Horton, Amelia Jeanette Horton, the mother of his children, and brother Joseph Horton.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Horton of Georgetown; Brother, Dr. Charles R. Horton (Rita); His children Allen Horton (Ellen), Taylor Horton, Daughters Leah Batchelder (Robert) and Beth Horton (Beth Kissee).

A Celebration of Life will be held in Pleasant Ridge, Alabama at a future date.
