JAEHNE, William "Bill"
Age 72, with his wife and two sons at his side, William "Bill" Jaehne passed away the morning of July 22, 2024, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Bill was the most authentic, confident, and generous person you'd ever meet. In any crowd of people, in any situation, Bill was the life of the party. His personality was electric, and he could connect with anyone. If you were lucky enough to be a friend or family member of Bill's, he would always take care of you. If you needed advice, he had an opinion. If you needed something fixed, Bill could fix anything. If you needed a laugh, he'd have you in stitches in a matter of seconds. Bill would give you the shirt off of his back (though it would probably be covered in paint). He was better than any of us at being kind and good, but also at being bad. From a very early age, Bill was a troublemaker and he loved that about himself. He could manifest an adventure out of thin air; he would spontaneously make those ordinary everyday tasks exciting. You felt special and grateful that he included you on the ride.
Bill grew up in Lawrenceville, a city kid through and through. But he was always his happiest in the middle of nowhere, on a boat or in the woods, fishing, camping, building fires and sharing stories. He was also a natural athlete. Bill played football for the Lawrenceville Saints and he was on various sports teams while in the Navy. His passion for sports transitioned to coaching all of his two sons' sports teams and of course, cheering on the black and gold.
We hope that Bill will be reunited with family members that have passed including:
Betty and Bill (Mother and Father)
Mary Lou, David, Bernie, Debbie, and others (cousins)
Tag, Harper, Marley, and Penny (Bill's dogs)
Bill will be eternally missed by his immediate family members and his close friends including:
Yvonne, Neal, Brandon, Jessie, Foster and Miles (Wife, Sons, Daughter-in-law, grandsons)
Judy and Kevin (Sister and Brother)
Connolly, Paul, and Randy (close friends)
And many many more.
Bill's spirit, wit, and undeniable sarcasm will live on in our memories forever. We love you, Bill.
Visitation will be held on Friday, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm, at the D'ALESSANDRO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY LTD., Butler at 46th Sts., Lawrenceville, where friends and family will then gather at 9am on Saturday. Mass will be held at St. Jude Parish, St. Raphael Church at 10am. A luncheon will be held at 12pm at Monte Cello's Hampton 4655 William Flinn Hwy, Allison Park, PA 15101. www.dalessandroltd.com.
