Indiana Funeral Care - GreenwoodWilliam (Bill) Reece Jenkins, 60, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. Bill was born on June 10, 1965, in Indianapolis to Ivan F. Jenkins and Martha R. (Wade) Jenkins.
A proud graduate of Jeffersontown High School, Class of 1986, Bill pursued a career in design drafting, earning his degree at Kentucky Polytechnic Institute. He worked for several years as a draftsman at Cable Engineering, where he became known for his exceptional work ethic and extensive knowledge of his craft.
Bill was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was preceded in death by his father, Ivan F. Jenkins, and the love of his life, Angie Reese. Bill is survived by his devoted mother, Martha R. (Wade) Jenkins; his brother, Ivan L. (Marcella) Jenkins; his sister, Elizabeth S. (Dewayne) Hudson; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. His loss will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
Bill had a passion for music, particularly singing karaoke, and was a long-time member of the Beech Grove Moose Lodge. In his free time, he enjoyed taking drives through the countryside and watching a variety of sporting events. Bill was a dedicated fan of the UK Wildcats, the LA Dodgers, and the Indianapolis Colts. He also loved animals, finding joy in the pets of his loved ones, and enjoyed spending time in nature. In his younger years, he cherished camping and fishing, and the memories of these outdoor adventures stayed with him throughout his life.
Above all, Bill treasured time spent with family and friends. One of his favorite pastimes was taking vacations with his mother, sister, and brother-in-law, especially to the beautiful Smoky Mountains, where he found solace and inspiration. Bill’s faith, compassion, and kindness were evident in every aspect of his life. He lived with a heart full of love for God and others, and his example of devotion and generosity will not be forgotten. Bill was an active member of Rocklane Christian Church, where the congregation became like family to him.
