William ‘Mikey’ Johnson, 75, of Calhoun Falls, husband of Ruby Wiley Johnson, passed away Monday, April 14, 2025, at the Abbeville Area Medical Center. He was born in Calhoun Falls to the late J. W. and Syble Moss Johnson.
Also affectionately known as ‘Big M’, Mikey retired from Burlington Industries with over 40 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and tending his garden. Most of all, he loved being with his family and making forever memories. Mikey was a proud member of the Pettigrew Hardware Club, Northside Baptist Church, Calhoun Falls and attended Calhoun Falls Pentecostal Holiness Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Johnson and grand-daughter, Nicole Newton.
Mikey is survived by his wife of 34 years, Ruby, of the home; five children, Mike Johnson and his wife, Shelley, of McCormick, Kristi Newton and her husband, Johnny, of Lowndesville, Craig Brown and his wife, Fran, of Calhoun Falls, Robbie Jo Hanna and her husband, Daniel, of Lowndesville, and Cody Johnson and his wife, Kristin, of Abbeville; brother, Ricky Johnson and his wife, Carolyn, of Abbeville; ten grandchildren, Matt Johnson, P.J. Johnson, Abby Campbell (Xavian), Addison Saylors (Seth), Slade Brown, Sydney Brown, Deric Hanna (Katie), Lexie Hanna, Scarlett Johnson and Cora Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Vada Campbell and Evie Campbell; and numerous extended family and friends.
A celebration of Mikey’s life will be 2:00PM, Friday, April 18, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home, Calhoun Falls Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Memorial contributions, in memory of Mikey, may be sent to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 4151 Spruill Ave Ste 250, North Charleston, SC 29405.
