Jerry Albino
June 14, 2023
My name is Jerry Albino and I played for Bill at Old Dominion in the early eighties. What a great man and amazing ambassador for the sport. He became a surrogate father to me and taught us about life and soccer. My sincere condolences to the family, as We have lost family members to Covid as well. A big part of who I am today is because Bill cared about each one of his players and try to teach us the right way to live and carry ourselves. Thanks Bill for the love you gave to an eighteen year old from Long Island New York. I will never forget you and looking to the day when we can kick a ball around again. I

My wife Sandie and I want to offer our most sincere condolences to the Killen family for your recent loss. As you know, I have communicated with Bill many times over the past years. I will always remember him, not only for his amazing accomplishments in the soccer community but mostly as a soccer team mate since we were 6 years old at Girard College and at West Chester University. He was beloved by everyone as a kind and gentle man with an infectious smile. He was to me a best friend and was always there if you needed help. He was a true "Hummer" and more importantly, a true gentleman and friend. I will miss our talks and will think of him, "till our hearts be still".

The only words I can think of right now are THANK YOU! Thank you Coach K Billie Killen for giving another Southsider a shot! You from the South Side of Philly and me the South Side of Chicago. You gave me a chance when I had only been playing soccer since junior yr of high school an opportunity to play soccer at the college level. Thank you for talking me out of leaving and staying at MacMurray when I was homesick and ready to leave at the end of my freshman year. Thank you to you and Mrs. K for being family not only to me but to any member of the team when our family was unable to be there when we may have needed them. I have you to thank for endless amount of friendships which have become like family. Without you I would not be where I am today and be living this incredibly fortunate life that I have...I would not have met my beautiful wife Julie Williams or have our beautiful children. Thank you Coach K for the knowledge, the experiences, the memories, the conversations, the fun and laughs. Forever and always my COACH!!! THANK YOU you will he missed more than you probably ever imagined! I love you Coach!!!
