William "Paul" Knipp August 24th, 1970 – June 27th, 2025 Paul Knipp, was born on August 24th, 1970, to Donald and Barbara Knipp of Tonganoxie, KS. Paul passed away on Friday, June 27th, 2025, at the University of Kansas Medical Center as a result of sustained injuries from a fall in his home. His spirit will live on with those he helped through organ donation. Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Babara "Bobbi" Knipp. He is survived by His father, Donald "Don" Knipp, his brother Matt Knipp, nieces, Ashley Knipp (Trigg Brewer), Haley Draughon (William Draughon), Jaycee Tu'ua (Evan Tu'ua), his aunt, Melanie Starcher, as well as many other cousins, family, and friends. The man, the myth, the legend! Paul grew up in Tonganoxie, KS. He graduated from Tonganoxie High School in 1988 and later from Baker University. He worked for 35 years at the Hallmark Cards Production Facility in Lawrence, KS where he worked in management and process planning for production. He was also the grade school Spelling Bee Champion, as he often remindedthe friends who were in his class. In life, Paul knew no enemies and was a brother and friend to so many people including both lifelong friends he hung out with weekly and friends from work he'd known for years, or ones he just met. He had a love of music from an early age. While he didn't play an instrument (outside of a few guitar lessons in high school, for the band that never happened), he did attend countless concerts and shows with all his friends and constantly had music playing in his home. It would be impossible to pick Paul's all time favorite song (though his close friends would have to suffer the times he was hooked on a particular song and would play it on repeat all night long). Paul loved the Royals, Chiefs, and Jayhawks and attended games as often as possible or would go to watch parties with friends. He was always with friends and always available for lunch, breakfast, a late-night concert, or even just a Saturday morning at the farmers' market. Paul made friends with everyone he met, and he didn't just know his friends, he knew their friends, their families, and they all knew and loved Paul. If Paul was there, you knew that it was going to be a good time. A life lived full of infectious laughter, bad puns, and loud music. If you knew Paul, you also knew that he loved his family dearly. There wasn't a week that his mom wasn't bringing him a book or drinking a beer with him trying to find out what was going on that week. He loved his father who taught him the worth of a dollar and an education making him into the man who we all knew and loved. Paul loved his three nieces, Ashley, Haley, and Jaycee. He was so proud of their accomplishments, their lives and families they were building as adults. They each knew that they were his favorite and taught them it how to enjoy life. Paul was truly loved and will be missed by many. Rock On! A celebration of life is planned as an open house event on Thursday, July 3rd from 4:00pm - 8:00PM at the Ellie B. event center at 220 W Street, Tonganoxie, KS. This will be a causal event for Paul and Hawaiian shirts, Concert, or Sports Shirts are encouraged. In lieu of flowers we ask donation be made to St.Judes Children's Research Hospital in memory of Paul Knipp.
