William "Bill" Kuczer Obituary
William G. "Bill" Kuczer, 82, of Woonsocket, died Saturday, April 27, 2024. He was the husband of Flora L. (Remillard) Kuczer of 58 years, whom he married October 9, 1965. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Wasyl and Helen (Boyko) Kuczer.
William was a 1962 graduate of Woonsocket High School. He was honorably discharged from the Army National Guard of Rhode Island in November 1969 after serving six years. William worked for the former Valley Gas, Southern Union, and National Grid, before retiring in December 2001. He then was a courtesy driver at Simon Chevrolet for five years. William was a member of the Woonsocket Jaycees and Lions Club. When his children were younger, he was involved with the PTA at their schools. William was a parishioner of the former St. Louis Church, where he taught CCD with his wife and was a member of the parish council.
William was a proud "Grandpa" and loved visits from his grandchildren. He was a Chevrolet enthusiast, who enjoyed scratch tickets and Notre Dame Football. William was an animal lover, who was known to spoil his pets, especially his cat, Nanu. He also enjoyed WNRI radio talk shows, and listened to Polka Paul every Sunday, often dedicating songs to his loved ones.
Besides his wife, Flora, he leaves their children, Duane Kuczer, his wife, Maria, and their children, Ryan and Evan of Douglas, MA, Jo-Ann Saxton, her husband, Brian, and their children, Andrew and John of Holliston, MA, and Glenn Kuczer, his wife, Laura, and their children, Natalie and Nathaniel of Groton MA; his brother, Thomas Kuczer of Glendale; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Eugene and Theodore Kuczer, and his sister, Leslie Imondi.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 9 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main Street, Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Agatha's Church, 34 Joffre Avenue, Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Woonsocket Cat Sanctuary, 266 Mendon Road, Woonsocket, RI 02895.

I knew my cousin Billy (childhood name) from day 1. Our mothers, who were sisters, each
gave birth to their first child 1 week apart. We were actually all in the Woonsocket Hospital maternity ward at the same time. So, I had many opportunities for play time with Billy during our childhood, especially on Sundays at our grandparents' house. What I can say is that Billy was a nice kid. As he grew older he was always a nice guy.

I moved to California as an adult. After that my contact with Bill and Flora was very limited. I really feel bad that I never got to know their children, who were highly loved and praised by their Grandma Helen ( my aunt) and their devoted Aunt Leslie (my cousin).

I am sending my condolences to Flora, and their 2 now adult children and grandchildren. Hopefully, I will still be able to meet and spend some time with them.
