William 'Billy' Larson
Negaunee
William Edwin 'Billy' Larson, 69, of Negaunee, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility.
Billy was born September 27, 1955 in Marquette to William and Judith (Salminen) Larson and graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1973. He earned his CAD Degree from Bay College and was employed by Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company as a laborer and plant repairman and retired after 30 years of service. He was a proud member of Steelworkers Local 4950.
Billy was a generous man who loved spending time at the family 510 camp. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and Michigan football fan. He had a good sense of humor and quick wit, and enjoyed socializing downtown Negaunee. He enjoyed painting and sketching which lead to him writing and illustrating his own book, "Da Adventures of Eino and Toivo in the Wild UP"which was published in 2004.
Surviving are his father, William Larson; brothers: Jim (Sue), Jon and Donald (Shana Thornton) Larson; sisters: Suanne Debski and Kay (Pete) Heikkila; brother-in-law Kevin Bell; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Judy Larson; sisters: Cheryl Larson and Lori-Ann Bell; sister-in-law, Loralee Larson; and brother-in-law, Brian Debski.
Graveside services will be held for William Edward 'Bill' Larson, age 90, and William Edwin 'Billy' Larson, age 69, at 12:00 noon on Friday, May 9th at the Negaunee Cemetery with Rev. Alex Ross officiating. A reception will follow at the Negaunee Elks Lodge starting at 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
