William Henry Launer, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at the age of 91. Beloved husband of Sheryl Launer; cherished son of the late Marvin and Bernice Launer; devoted father of Louis (Trish) Launer and Martha (Brian) Deubel; stepfather of Rich Walker and Angie Oesterreicher; loving grandfather of Sophie Deubel and Kayla Pepmeyer; step-grandfather of Hope Walker and Paige Walker; treasured great-grandfather of Norah Pepmeyer; dear brother of Jim (Mary) Launer. Preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Illomay (Hachtmeyer) Launer.
Bill was a devoted member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where he cherished attending Bible class. He worked for over 40 years as an electrical engineer at McDonnell Douglas and enjoyed connecting with people worldwide as an amateur Ham radio operator.
A gentle and kind soul, Bill adored his dogs, especially Chevy and Maizie, and was loved by all who knew him. His warmth, humility, and generosity left a lasting impact on his family, friends, and community. Bill will be deeply missed but always remembered for his loving spirit and unwavering faith.
Memorials may be made in William's name to Immanuel Lutheran School – St. Charles.
