William (Willie) P. Lawrence age 69 gained his wings on January 20th, 2023 due to complications from a myocardial infarction. He was a fighter and survived multiple cancers & ailments over the last six years.
William was born on July 3rd, 1953 in Austin Texas. William was the 3rd of ten Children to Audrey May Darity-Miles & Malcolm Boyd Miles and James Lawrence & Fannie Lawrence.
William was born and raised in Austin Tx, that is where he met and married the love of his life Sheila Annette Lawrence on January 12th, 1971. They were married for 37 years at the time of her untimely passing. Since she passed away, he remained loyal and in his heart was still married (for 51 years) and waiting to be reunited with his wife.
Shortly after they married they began their family and had three children Denise Lawrence-Cox, William Shane Lawrence & William Shawn Lawrence. William joined the Marine Corps and proudly served his country. Serving his country, was one of the most important things he was proud of. Once he returned home- at the direction of his wife, as a born leader, he became a Warehouse Manager at a large furniture company where he later retired from. Willie was so much to so many, a dedicated husband, a good friend, a hardworking father & the best Pawpaw ever. He created a lot of fond memories with his family and friends and shared great childhood stories of growing up with his brothers and sisters. Willie loved playing Golf, watching football, playing poker, traveling with his wife, and most of all being together with his family.
He will always be remembered as a dedicated, dependable, and honorable man by everyone who knows him well.
William was proceeded in death by his parents Audrey May Darity-Miles & Malcolm Boyd Miles and James Lawrence. His sister Diane Weaver and Brothers James V. Lawrence, Wayne Lawrence & James "Leon" Lawrence. His son-in-law Thomas Cox.
William is survived by his children Denise Lawrence-Cox, William Shane Lawrence & William Shawn Lawrence. His 12 Grandchildren, Audriana Lawrence-Sifuentes & husband Alejandro, Amber Perkins, Charles Ryan Perkins & wife Amber, Brittany Lawrence, Rowdy Lawrence, Destiny Lawrence, Jordan Lawrence, Courtney Lawrence, Sandra Lawrence & Shelby Lawrence.
12 Great-Grandchildren Shyla, Avah, Alyssa, Sophia, Jonathan "JJ", Quincy, Axel, Hollie, Joseph "Seph", Thomas, Austin, and Aidan.
His stepmother Fannie Lawrence. His siblings Mittie, Rebecca "Becky", Pamela "Pam", Veronica "Ronnie" & Carl.
As well as several nephews and nieces & Friends who became family along the way.
William wanted to mention his chosen honorary pallbearers Bobby "Possum" Matthews (brother in law & Buddy), Larry Weaver (Nephew), Alejandro Sifuentes (Grandson), Ryan Perkins (Grandson), Arlie Carnline (brother-in-law), Mike Kelly (childhood Best Friend) Hagen Garcia (close friend) & Joe Martinez (close friend).
The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Ascension Hospital in Kyle for their care and compassion during his stay.
A public visitation will be from 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM Wednesday, February, 1st at the Harrell Funeral Home Chapel. Following with a Funeral Service at 4:00 PM Thursday, February 2nd at the Harrell Funeral Home Chapel.
