William John Ledford

John Ledford, 82, of Copperhill, TN, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on December 19, 2025. He was born on April 2, 1943, in Copperhill, TN, to the late Joseph and Alice Ledford. He was also preceded in death by seven siblings.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Patsy Ledford; daughter, Patti Elrod; sister; Alene Odom; grandchildren; Jesse Abercrombie, and Sandor Nicolae William Vali. A host of nieces and nephews loved as children also survive.

Dependable and trustworthy marked the traits of Mr. Ledford. He was always there for others and worked hard throughout his life. He had a wry sense of humor that kept others wondering if what he was telling was true or a little bit exaggerated. John always enjoyed being outside working in and experiencing God's created world of nature.

A graveside service is scheduled to be held on Monday, December 22, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. in the cemetery of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church (Airport Road) with Pastor Gary Conger officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home in McCaysville, Georgia on Sunday, December 21, 2025 , from 12:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again on Monday December 22, 2025 from 12:30 P.M. until departure to the cemetery at 2:30 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations in Mr. Ledford's memory be made to either Midway Baptist Church or The Gideons International.
